Space exploration is important for mankind. Manned space flight may not be very important today but artificial satellites which are launched by rockets aid us in many ways. For example they help us to make more accurate weather forecasts, they make it possible to talk to people on the other side of the globe and they allow us to see television from distant parts of the world. In the future, space exploration and travel will become much more important. Excessive population growth is already a problem and it is clear that the Earth's population can't increase indefinitely. As a result we will have to look for other inhabitable planets to live on. The distances may be great but not impossibly so.
